Oliver Oostermeyer – Director

Oliver has successfully assisted a range of clients throughout Australia in the Liquor Licensing, Gaming, Hospitality and Sports Industries over a number of years including hotel publicans, large hotel groups, cinemas, bowling centres, bottle shops and well known sportspeople.

Oliver’s expertise includes:

Oliver graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University in 2005.

Oliver is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria Sports Law Group and the Australia and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA).

Oliver has a keen interest in sport as an ex-player and previous Board Member of St Kilda Cricket Club and is a current:

• Tribunal Member and Member of the Independent Integrity Panel for the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA)
• Tribunal Member for Football Federation of Victoria (FFV);
• Committee Member of the South Melbourne Childcare Co-Operative (Neighborhood House); and
• Member of the School Council for St Kilda Park Primary School.

Martin Towey – Director

Martin has joined LGS legal from the independent liquor and gaming regulator the VCGLR, where he spent six years in senior positions.

There is no better person in private practice in Victoria who knows how the VCGLR actually works. At the VCGLR, he was the authorised person who dealt with planning referrals for licensed premises trading post 1 am, and led a team that dealt with complex liquor and gaming applications. Prior to this he was the licensing manager for Victoria.

Martin is returning to legal practice after previously practising law at a large full service law firm.

At LGS legal he is involved advising, in transactional aspects behind buying and selling licensed businesses, making planning applications, licensing applications to the VCGLR and advising on compliance issues involving gaming and liquor legislation.

He has a keen interest in sport, including Rugby, AFL, EPL and as an Englishman, he follows cricket as a neutral.
